About Leah
Leah earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology both from Eastern Washington University. She is licensed in the State of Washington as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LH60767353). Leah has earned additional training and supervised experience to meet the State of Washington's Approved Supervisor requirements.
Leah ascribes to an attachment-based approach to therapy, which also includes a focus on neurobiology and how the brain and nervous system impact our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Leah provides a warm relationship that allows children, parents, and adults to explore themselves and their relationships. When working with children, she utilizes Child-Parent Psychotherapy and Theraplay strategies of dyadic sessions with parent/child and parent-only sessions to help parents understand their relationship with their child and how best to meet the child and the family’s needs. These attachment-based approaches are often most effective when a parent/caregiver is enrolled as the client, as the parent is the most important facilitator of change within the relationship.
In adult and life transition work, Leah provides a reparative experience where a client can explore their historical relationship patterns to give them context for their current relationship issues. Motivational interviewing is used to ground conversations in the direction of the client’s wants, needs, and values.

A Message from Leah
I specialize in counseling for young children and adults with a focus on relational conflicts, life transitions, and trauma resolution. I provide attachment-based approaches, which help clients to increase their felt safety within their bodies and within their relationships, so that they can explore and understand childhood medical trauma, adoption, and other early life stressors. My work with children includes parent/child sessions to improve and repair relational conflicts and early life stressors, grounded in Theraplay-informed strategies to increase attunement and connection. In adult and life transition work, I provide a reparative experience where a client can explore their historical relationship patterns to give them context for their current relationship issues. Brain-based and somatic strategies are used to create the foundation for change. Motivational interviewing is used to ground conversations in the direction of your wants, needs, and values.
Your current struggle is the manifestation of a history of navigating your own and others needs within relationships. This can only be resolved through relearning information on a neurological level, this means experiencing relationships which offer needs that were not previously met and learning how to cultivate relationships that provide meaning and safety. You are here because you know you want to react, parent, or feel different but you don’t know where to start. This is where you can start.
