Adreanna earned a masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Whitworth University and a Bachelors degree in Psychology from University of Idaho. She is licensed in the State of Washington as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LF61574608) under the supervision of Leah Parker MS, LMHC.
Adreanna uses an integrated model that incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy to help clients create awareness of solutions that have worked in the past in conjunction with building greater awareness on the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviors that impact decision making. She believes people struggle because they become stuck in negative cycles. In some cases these cycles are learned solutions from childhood, and sometimes we continue to use "more of the same" for lack of any other options.
Adreanna's areas of specialty are:
- Anxiety
- Codependency
- Family Conflict
- Parenting
- Pregnancy, Prenatal and Postpartum
- Relationship Issues
- Transgender
- Trauma and PTSD
- Women's Issues
A Message from Adreanna
Therapy can be an exciting, hopeful, and at times a nerve-racking experience. A big part of therapeutic success is found within the relationship that you develop with a therapist. At times life can feel uncertain, chaotic, and hopeless. Sometime, even when you have people around you, you may feel like the only person in the room. The biggest part to developing a relationship within therapy is to make sure there is a right fit. You are most likely a good fit if you would enjoy a more direct, but also laid-back therapist who can help educate, relate, and help you identify negative patterns. My favorite type of clients want to learn more about their own patterns and have a motivation for change.
I will be help advocate and encourage you to look into how you are experiencing your emotions from a cognitive and somatic experience as a way for you to know get to know your brain and body better. I take a therapeutic approach that is evidence-based through the use of solution focused therapy, emotion focused therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
Each therapeutic modality holds different purposes. I have multiple modalities that I can use to provide your with a treatment tailored to address your presenting concerns. I hope to help you identify and facilitate solutions for forward movement, learn more about the meaning making process with your emotions, and being able to identify how the brain impacts thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
You can expect a warm greeting but also a direct style of therapy where I will be walking alongside you to challenge, advocate, and keep you accountable for your progress. You will start to notice change when you become more confident in knowing yourself and what you need to live an authentic life. The most important part of counseling is the authenticity that you bring to every session. A therapist can only treat what is presented. You can create more positive cycles and reach your therapeutic goals.
